Veterinarian

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will provide medical care to a wide range of animals and work closely with pet owners to ensure their animals receive the best care possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
• Develop treatment plans for ill animals.
• Conduct follow-up examinations to monitor recovery.
• Provide emergency care for sick or injured animals.
• Assist in the training of veterinary technicians and support staff.
• Build strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat visits.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Additional certifications in specialized fields (e.g., surgery, animal behaviour) are a plus

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in a veterinary clinic setting

• Pharmaceutical Knowledge

Certifications

• Veterinary Technician Specialist Certification
• Animal Behaviour Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Advanced surgical techniques: Knowledge of and experience with advanced surgical procedures.
• Specialization in animal rehabilitation: Certification or experience in rehabilitation practices for animals.
