Job Description

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in our projects located across Johannesburg. You will be tasked with developing structural designs, performing calculations to support your designs, and collaborating with other engineering professionals. This position offers a great opportunity to expand your skills while working on diverse and interesting projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient structural designs and lead engineering analysis.
• Conduct field measurements and gather site data to scrutinize designs.
• Engage in project risk management and safety assessments.
• Consult with clients to determine project requirements and expectations.
• Implement innovative design methods and provide value engineering alternatives.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct feasibility studies for potential projects.
• Maintain project documentation and records for review and reference.
• Attend relevant industry seminars and workshops to stay updated on new techniques and materials.
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients to foster repeat business.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in structural design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Code Compliance

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency with project management software: Experience with tools like MS Project or Primavera for project management.
• Background in railway or transport engineering: Experience in projects related to transport infrastructure.
