We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and products. You will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in mechanical engineering principles and practices and have a passion for driving technological advancements.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design projects from concept to completion.
• Utilize CAD software to produce high-quality designs.
• Analyze and interpret data to inform engineering decisions.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide feedback.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for engineering processes.
• Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams when needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Any relevant certifications are preferred

Experience

• 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering design

Technical Skills

• Prototyping and testing skills
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Project management
• Communication

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Lean Manufacturing certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of smart manufacturing technologies: Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and IoT applications.
• Skilled in technical writing: Ability to create detailed reports and documentation for engineering projects.
