Job Description

We are actively looking for an Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Midrand. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of risk assessment and the ability to analyze client information to determine coverage eligibility. You'll play a vital role in facilitating risk management decisions while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and finalize policy documentation in a timely manner.
• Monitor industry trends and developments to improve underwriting practices.
• Consult with senior underwriters on complex cases or disputes.
• Foster relationships with external partners for insightful assessments.
• Continuously improve your underwriting skills through training and professional development.
• Review and analyze loss data to enhance risk assessment techniques.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or equivalent
• Additional qualifications in insurance are preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Certifications

• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) certification
• Risk Management Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in using data analytics for underwriting decisions: Proficiency in leveraging analytics for improving underwriting outcomes.
