Job Description

We're searching for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, analysing, and improving mechanical systems and components. You will innovate new designs and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all engineering solutions are practical and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from conception to completion.
• Perform simulations to test product functionalities.
• Collaborate with external vendors for material selection.
• Ensure compliance with safety and design regulations.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide updates.
• Offer mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through redesigns.
• Conduct market research to identify upcoming trends in mechanical engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Prototyping

Soft Skills

• Time management
• Attention to detail

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software: Familiarity with PLM tools for managing product data and documentation.
• Knowledge of quality management systems: Understanding of quality assurance processes in engineering projects.
