Job Description

As an Actuary at our Cape Town office, you will analyse complex data sets, assist in pricing strategies, and guide clients through their financial decisions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Develop and validate actuarial models and assumptions
• Support product development initiatives across various sectors

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in actuarial science or related fields

Technical Skills

• Risk Management
• Statistical Packages (e.g., R, Python)

Soft Skills

• Presentation Skills

Certifications

• FASSA Certification is an advantage
• Financial Risk Manager (FRM) is advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in insurance or financial services industries: Background in sectors relevant to actuarial applications.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the financial sector: Understanding of the legal frameworks affecting actuarial work.
