Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to lead waste management projects in Durban. The successful candidate will design, implement, and oversee waste management solutions that comply with local regulations while promoting sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement waste disposal systems in compliance with environmental standards.
• Conduct surveys and prepare reports on waste management practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers.
• Monitor site operations for adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies on waste management policies.
• Conduct risk assessments related to waste management projects.
• Initiate and lead projects aimed at environmental restoration.
• Research and identify funding opportunities for waste management initiatives.
• Prepare budgets and timelines for projects.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of waste reduction programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in environmental projects with a focus on waste management

Languages

• English: Fluent
