Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. In this role, you will leverage your design expertise to create innovative mechanical solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop products that meet customer specifications while adhering to industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Finalize design specifications and document findings.
• Engage in team brainstorming sessions to foster innovation.
• Oversee the implementation of designs during the production phase.
• Evaluate and resolve any engineering problems that arise.
• Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers for design feedback.
• Contribute to project budgets through effective design solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and present engineering concepts.
• Ensure that all designs comply with local and international standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
