Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are in search of a skilled Civil Engineer who is passionate about impactful infrastructure development. In this role, you'll manage projects from conceptual design to execution, ensuring adherence to regulations while enhancing the urban landscape of Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits to evaluate project progress and compliance.
• Develop innovative solutions to engineering problems and challenges.
• Engage in contract negotiations with suppliers and contractors.
• Utilize project management software to track project milestones.
• Review project budgets and ensure financial efficiency.
• Participate in quality control measures to uphold work standards.
• Foster relationships with community members impacted by projects.
• Research and implement new technologies in civil engineering.
• Prepare technical presentations for client meetings.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of new engineering staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in civil engineering consulting or construction

• Civil 3D
• Sustainability Practices

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in Coastal Engineering: Specialization in projects related to coastal structures.
• Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA): Experience in conducting and understanding EIAs for projects.
