Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing comprehensive care to our furry patients. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal welfare, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat various animal health conditions.
  • Perform surgical procedures and post-operative care.
  • Conduct wellness exams and preventive care for animals.
  • Educate pet owners about health, nutrition, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team for optimal patient care.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff.
  • Stay current with veterinary practices and advancements.
  • Participate in emergency medical services as required.
  • Manage follow-up care and client communications.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
  • Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in veterinary practice
