Mental Health Counselor

Job Description

We are looking for compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counselors to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will provide direct care, counseling, and support services to individuals experiencing mental health issues, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to determine the needs of residents.
• Develop personalized care plans to meet client goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution support.
• Coordinate with external service providers for additional support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
• Support clients in skill-building and coping strategies.
• Engage in team meetings and case reviews.
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions.
• Advocate for residents to improve their overall well-being.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years' experience working with individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities

• English: Fluent
