Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will assess risk and determine policy terms and premiums, ensuring adherence to the company’s underwriting guidelines. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as you will evaluate insurance applications, gather necessary documentation, and make informed decisions regarding coverage and pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare recommendations for coverage.
  • Assist in the development of underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with clients and agents about policy options.
  • Investigate claims as needed to assess the legitimacy.
  • Provide feedback on underwriting processes to improve efficiency.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, or a related field
  • Relevant underwriting certifications are preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry
