The ideal candidate will work closely with individuals and families to provide support, resources, and advocacy in various areas of social welfare. You will be integral in connecting clients with services that enhance their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough social assessments and identify resources for clients.
• Deliver counseling and therapeutic support to individuals and families.
• Coordinate with community resources to facilitate client access to assistance.
• Stand as an advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are met within the social service framework.
• Keep detailed records of client interactions, progress, and service provision.
• Engage in team meetings and contribute expertise in case discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology
• Postgraduate qualifications in Social Work are advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a social services role preferred

• Crisis Intervention Techniques

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in mental health services: Knowledge or experience in mental health support is a plus.
