Pharmacist

Job Description

As a Pharmacist at our Port Elizabeth location, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications. You will work closely with patients and healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular audits of medication storage and handling practices.
• Provide guidance on over-the-counter medications and dietary supplements.
• Ensure a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
• Work with the pharmacy team to implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate and process prescription refill requests and manage prescription transfers.
• Serve as a resource for drug information for both patients and healthcare providers.

Requirements

Education

• PharmD or equivalent
• Experience in clinical pharmacy is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Pharmacy Software
• Clinical Decision Making

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Attention to Detail

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with medication therapy management: Knowledge of MTM practices to enhance patient outcomes.
• Community outreach experience: Experience in engaging with community health initiatives.
