Job Description

As a Tobacco Stripper, your primary responsibility will be to remove stalks from tobacco leaves, ensuring they are ready for processing into various tobacco products. This role involves manual and machine-assisted stripping, quality control, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Strip, cut, and process tobacco leaves in accordance with company standards.
• Conduct frequent quality control checks to ensure compliance with production standards.
• Safely operate and maintain tobacco processing equipment.
• Work with other departments to meet production schedules.
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Provide feedback on the stripping process for continuous improvement.
• Assist in training new employees on safe stripping practices.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 10 or equivalent
• Ability to read and write in English

Experience

• No previous experience required.

Technical Skills

• Basic math skills

• Reliability

Advantageous

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment: Familiarity with production processes and teamwork.
• Ability to speak multiple languages, especially Afrikaans or Zulu: Language skills to facilitate communication in diverse teams.
