Job Description

We are seeking a talented Architect to join our Port Elizabeth team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovative design and a strong understanding of sustainable practices. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our architectural projects, from conceptual development to final execution.

Responsibilities

• Create draft designs and make revisions based on client feedback.
• Assist in project documentation and presentation.
• Coordinate with local authorities for planning and permits.
• Develop specifications and assist in the selection of materials.
• Participate in design reviews and critique sessions with the team.
• Ensure all designs align with our firm’s vision and client goals.
• Utilize 3D modeling tools to enhance design presentations.
• Assist with site visits and inspections during construction.
• Foster relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Evaluate project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
• Master's degree in Sustainable Design is a plus

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in architectural design and project management roles

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software (Primavera, MS Project)
• Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Analytical Thinking

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with historical buildings: Knowledge of restoration and preservation techniques for heritage buildings.
• Familiarity with community-driven design processes: Experience engaging with community stakeholders during the design process.
