Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Breeder to manage the care and breeding of poultry. The right candidate will focus on optimal animal health and productivity while ensuring compliance with biosecurity measures. This role requires hands-on involvement with daily operations and a passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Ensure thorough feeding regimes are followed.
• Maintain and monitor housing conditions for comfort and health.
• Supervise breeding and hatching procedures.
• Control diseases and manage parasites effectively.
• Record and report on poultry health and production metrics.
• Establish biosecurity measures on the farm.
• Guide and mentor less experienced farm staff.
• Identify and adopt new practices to improve flock management.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Farming or animal husbandry training preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience working with poultry.
