Urban Planner

Job Description

As an Urban Planner with us, you'll be at the forefront of urban development initiatives. You will collaborate with government and community stakeholders to ensure that projects meet the highest standards of design and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement urban planning project proposals.
• Coordinate with various municipal departments during project development.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.
• Assist in the preparation of environmental assessments.
• Facilitate public meetings and workshops to foster community participation.
• Evaluate existing urban areas for improvement and redevelopment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Master's degree is an asset

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in urban planning or related field

Technical Skills

• GIS Software
• Urban Design Principles

• Communication
• Teamwork

Certifications

• AICP Certification (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
