Freight Forwarder

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Forwarder who will be responsible for coordinating the shipment of goods from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of customs regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review freight quotes and select optimal shipping solutions.
• Collaborate with customs brokers to clear shipments.
• Ensure proper packaging and documentation for shipments.
• Track and trace shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist in resolving logistical challenges and delays.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics team.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics roles

Technical Skills

• Freight Management Systems
• Cost Analysis

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Additional Languages: Ability to communicate in multiple languages is an advantage.
• Experience with Cross-border Logistics: Experience handling international shipments, especially within Africa.
