Job Description

We are looking for a Certified Direct-Entry Midwife to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. You will play a vital role in ensuring mothers and babies receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and record vital signs and health conditions of mothers and newborns.
• Assist in emergencies, ensuring prompt medical intervention.
• Provide postpartum care and support for returning mothers.
• Promote healthy practices among patients for better recovery.
• Document all care and patient interactions meticulously.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers for optimal care delivery.
• Stay informed about new technologies and healthcare developments.

Requirements

Education

• Certified Direct-Entry Midwife (CDM) certification required
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in midwifery preferred.

Experience

• Experience with home births and water births is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Patient assessment skills
• Proficiency in EHR software

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational
