Relief Map Modeler

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Relief Map Modeler to create and design three-dimensional models of relief maps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS and 3D modeling software, as well as experience collaborating with clients to deliver tailored mapping solutions.

Responsibilities

• Use GIS software and tools to create accurate 3D terrain models.
• Interpret and analyze data to develop detailed mapping products.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct user testing on mapping interfaces and deliverables.
• Participate in client meetings to present mapping results and gather feedback.
• Document mapping processes and prepare reports on project outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, or a related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience as a Relief Map Modeler or in a related field

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with remote sensing techniques: Understanding of how to incorporate satellite imagery in mapping projects.
• Familiarity with web mapping technologies: Experience with Leaflet or Google Maps API would be beneficial.
