Job Description

We are seeking a Building Inspector to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing construction plans, performing on-site inspections, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and integrity of structures within our community.

Responsibilities

  • Assess safety and structural integrity of buildings during inspections.
  • Review all necessary documentation prior to inspections.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive compliance.
  • Train and mentor junior inspection staff.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure prior issues have been addressed.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Construction Management or Building Inspection
  • Further qualification in a relevant area is desirable
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry.
