Therapeutic Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Therapeutic Assistant to support therapists in delivering effective therapeutic interventions. This role involves assisting with treatment plans, conducting client assessments, and providing essential emotional support to clients.

Responsibilities

• Support therapists in executing treatment interventions.
• Gather and document client feedback for therapy progress.
• Assist in therapeutic exercises and activities under guidance.
• Ensure proper setup and maintenance of therapy equipment.
• Provide clients with encouragement and motivation.
• Document client interactions and therapeutic outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment discussions.
• Continuously improve knowledge of therapeutic practices.
• Assist in organizing group activities and therapy sessions.
• Facilitate communication between clients and the therapeutic team.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in therapeutic assisting or related field is advantageous

Experience

• Prior experience in a healthcare or therapeutic setting preferred, but not mandatory.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques
• Data entry skills

Soft Skills

• Empathy and compassion
• Communication skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with specific therapeutic approaches: Familiarity with techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy can be advantageous.
• First Aid and CPR certification: Certification will be considered an asset.
