Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Advocate to join our Cape Town team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and advocacy for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work closely with clients, offer guidance, and help them navigate through services available, ensuring they receive the care they need.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in understanding their rights and options within the healthcare system.
  • Conduct workshops and seminars on mental health awareness.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to advocate for client needs.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust advocacy plans as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and mental health professionals.
  • Help reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues in the community.
  • Regularly evaluate and improve advocacy strategies based on client feedback.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Social Work, or related field
  • Additional certifications in mental health are preferred
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in mental health settings
