CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

We're looking for a meticulous CNC Machine Operator to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC machinery and a keen eye for precision. Your role will involve setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines and prepare setup sheets for production.
• Conduct inspections and tests to ensure the quality of machined parts.
• Collaborate with the design team to realize new machining projects.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Assist in training new team members on CNC operations.
• Support maintenance team during machine troubleshooting efforts.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship completed
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment

Technical Skills

• CNC Lathe Operation
• CNC Milling Operation

• Analytical Thinking

Certifications

• OSHA Safety Certification
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Previous supervisory experience: Experience managing a small team of machine operators.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting: Familiarity with high-volume CNC production environments.
