Job Description

We're on the lookout for a passionate Urban Planner to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of urban design principles and be skilled in working with local communities to develop plans that meet their needs. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our urban landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead urban planning workshops and public forums to educate the community about development projects.
  • Utilize GIS software to create and analyze mapping data pertinent to urban planning.
  • Research and stay updated on best practices and innovative methodologies in urban planning.
  • Facilitate inter-departmental collaboration for comprehensive urban strategies.
  • Advocate for sustainable development practices in all planning initiatives.
  • Evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts of urban development proposals.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Studies or Environmental Planning is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in urban planning or related practices
