Wide Area Network Engineer (WAN Engineer)

Job Description

The WAN Engineer will be tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining Wide Area Network infrastructures for our diverse clientele. You'll collaborate with IT professionals to ensure seamless network performance and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement WAN solutions for diverse client needs.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals for network security.
• Create documentation for network configurations and maintenance processes.
• Conduct regular network testing and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards in network design.
• Assist with the training of junior staff in network troubleshooting.
• Provide ongoing support for WAN infrastructure.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in network technology.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in WAN engineering or network administration.

Technical Skills

• VPN technologies and remote access solutions
• Network security technologies

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Adaptability

Certifications

• CCNP or equivalent certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Network automation and scripting experience: Familiarity with network automation tools enhances operational efficiency.
• Load balancing technologies experience: Knowledge of technologies like F5 and Citrix for load balancing is a plus.
