Mechanical Technician

Job Description

We're on the lookout for a passionate Mechanical Technician to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be involved in developing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems while collaborating with engineers to ensure high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical engineers in design and analysis.
• Perform predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Investigate mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Create 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software.
• Compile reports detailing project progress and challenges.
• Maintain inventory of mechanical parts and components.
• Assist in setting up machinery and equipment for production.
• Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
• Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure high standards.
• Develop methods for improving mechanical systems efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in a mechanical technician role
