Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Knifeman to join our talented production team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional knife handling abilities and an understanding of various cutting techniques, contributing to the efficiency and quality of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety practices in the workspace.
  • Help to design and implement new cutting processes for improved efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with chefs to meet specific cutting requirements.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks for kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Assist in creating a positive work environment through teamwork and communication.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss workflow and improvements.
  • Keep accurate records of knife usage and sharpening schedules.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding equipment and supply needs.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in culinary or food preparation is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a related role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills
  • Cutting and slicing techniques
  • Knife maintenance
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication
  • Problem-solving

Advantageous

  • Ability to maintain and repair knives: Skills in knife maintenance and repair are an asset.
