Job Description

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to provide immediate care to patients experiencing acute illnesses or injuries. The ideal candidate must possess strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Stabilize patients in the emergency department quickly.
• Administer emergency treatments and conduct procedures.
• Conduct and review diagnostic tests.
• Ensure effective communication with patients' families.
• Work closely with nursing and medical teams to deliver optimal care.
• Document patient interactions and treatments thoroughly.
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
• Adhere to medical protocols and safety regulations.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff members.
• Prioritize patient care and safety in the emergency department.

Requirements

Education

• Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent)
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in emergency medicine.

Certifications

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Emergency Medicine Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
