Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our growing team in East London. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing various construction projects. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure structural integrity and compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems and components.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers for integrated designs.
• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and other staff.
• Evaluate project feasibility by performing structural assessments.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Review and approve contractor submissions and shop drawings.
• Scale up designs based on project needs and client feedback.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural and civil engineering projects

Technical Skills

• SAP2000
• STAAD.Pro

Soft Skills

• Leadership

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with seismic analysis: Knowledge and practice in designing structures to withstand seismic activity.
• Familiarity with green building practices: Understanding of sustainable design principles and materials.
