Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Trademark Attorney to join our legal team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of trademark law and experience in handling trademark registrations, disputes, and enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of trademark law, including registration, enforcement, and litigation.
• Assess trademark portfolios and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
• Conduct IP audits and due diligence in various transactions.
• Prepare legal opinions on trademark clearance and use.
• Engage in proactive monitoring of trademarks and enforcement actions.
• Advise on licensing agreements and IP-related contracts.
• Represent clients in negotiations related to trademark rights.
• Assist in training junior attorneys and interns on trademark law.
• Participate in industry conferences and seminars to enhance professional knowledge.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent law degree
• Postgraduate qualification in Intellectual Property Law preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in intellectual property law focusing on trademarks

• Trademark Litigation
