Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Safety Consultant to join our team in Richards Bay. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of chemical safety standards, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our operations adhere to both internal policies and external regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor safety compliance programs.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance safety awareness.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety integration.
• Perform investigations for safety incidents and recommend improvements.
• Maintain documentation of safety audits and incidents.
• Support the development of safety policies and guidelines.
• Assist in the preparation of safety reports for management.
• Lead safety meetings and discussions with staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering

Experience

• 5 years of experience in the chemical industry with safety focus

Technical Skills

• Process Safety Management

Soft Skills

• Project Management

Certifications

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Training in Chemical Spill Response: Experience in training teams for emergency chemical spill response.
• Advanced First Aid Certification: Certified in advanced first aid techniques and emergency response.
