Job Description

Join our expanding team as an Insurance Underwriter in East London. You will be responsible for evaluating risks and preparing quotes. This position requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail as you help clients find the right coverage.

Responsibilities

• Review and process insurance applications efficiently.
• Evaluate underwriting guidelines and adjust accordingly.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding policy terms and conditions.
• Work closely with claims adjusters to assess claims and policyholder queries.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance underwriter skills.
• Develop and implement strategies for improving risk assessment processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related discipline
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Financial Modeling

• Negotiation
• Teamwork

Certifications

• CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)
• Registered Insurance Underwriter (RIU)

Languages

• English: Fluent
