Job Description

As a Surveying and Mapping Technician, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed maps using specialized software and tools. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize surveying equipment to gather geographic data.
• Enhance current mapping methodologies and workflows.
• Coordinate with clients to understand their mapping needs.
• Maintain comprehensive records of mapping revisions.
• Engage in quality control processes to validate mapping outputs.
• Prepare reports summarizing mapping activities and results.
• Develop training material for GIS software usage.
• Assist in creating visual presentations of mapping data.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mapping and geospatial analysis

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
