Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Urban Planner to join our dedicated team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the future development of urban spaces by conducting research, analyzing data, and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement effective urban policies and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead urban planning projects from conception through implementation.
  • Facilitate public meetings and workshops to promote community involvement.
  • Develop zoning and land use regulations in collaboration with government bodies.
  • Analyze land use patterns and trends to anticipate future urban needs.
  • Coordinate with developers, architects, and engineers on project planning.
  • Prepare grant proposals and funding requests to secure project resources.
  • Implement sustainability initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Advocate for smart growth strategies that enhance urban livability.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in urban planning or related field
