Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter in Johannesburg, you will be responsible for examining insurance proposals, analyzing risk factors, and making judicious decisions. Successful candidates will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze diverse insurance risks and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Set premium rates according to the risk level of the applicant.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored insurance solutions.
• Prepare and present reports on underwriting activities.
• Assist in creating and refining underwriting policies.
• Engage with other departments to facilitate better client service.
• Continually assess and mitigate risks associated with policies.
• Participate in industry events to stay updated on trends and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Economics, with relevant certifications

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in underwriting roles.
