Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Civil Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in project management, design, and an understanding of civil engineering principles. You will work on various projects ranging from transportation infrastructure to residential developments, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering projects with a focus on sustainability and efficiency.
• Evaluate technical designs and make recommendations for improvements.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
• Facilitate communication across project teams to enhance collaboration.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage potential issues.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in civil engineering technology.
• Develop strategies to mitigate project risks.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for engineering projects.

Requirements

Education

• BEng in Civil Engineering or similar qualification
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years experience in civil design and project management

Technical Skills

• Revit
• SAP2000

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• LEED Professional Credential
• Member of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Project Management Experience: Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects effectively.
• Understanding of public sector regulations: Knowledge of regulations affecting civil engineering in South Africa.
