HR Compliance Officer

Job Description

We are actively seeking a detail-oriented HR Compliance Officer to oversee and ensure compliance with various labor laws and internal policies within our Johannesburg office. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting audits, developing compliance policies, and providing guidance to management.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain compliance strategies and systems to assess the effectiveness of current practices.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure operational adherence to HR policies.
• Respond to compliance inquiries from employees and external parties.
• Evaluate employee performance with respect to compliance and provide recommendations.
• Communicate changes in laws and regulations to all relevant stakeholders.
• Research best practices in compliance and develop enhancements to current processes.
• Support the continuous improvement of HR compliance functions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in HR Management or Business Administration
• Master's in HR Management is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of HR compliance experience in a corporate environment

Certifications

• Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification
• Compliance Certification Board (CCB) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience with union negotiations: Experience in dealing with union negotiations is an advantage.
