Seeking an Urban Planner to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will design urban spaces that foster sustainable development while meeting community needs. Your expertise will drive innovative urban planning strategies that improve city life.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement urban development strategies that enhance sustainability.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals.
• Analyse demographic and economic data to inform urban planning.
• Participate in public forums and community workshops.
• Assess environmental impacts of proposed projects and policies.
• Develop urban design concepts and master plans.
• Facilitate inter-departmental collaboration on urban issues.
• Prepare visual presentations and reports for stakeholders.
• Keep up-to-date with legislative changes affecting urban planning.
• Advise on urban design best practices and innovations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies, Environmental Planning or related field
• Master's degree in Urban Studies or related field preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of urban planning experience with a focus on community development

Certifications

• Chartered Town Planner (CTP)
• SACPLAN registration is a must

Languages

• English: Fluent
