Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design principles, demonstrating knowledge in CAD software and relevant manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical systems, contributing to innovative projects within our engineering department.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation in mechanical systems design.
• Interpret customer specifications and translate them into working designs.
• Coordinate efforts with outside vendors and suppliers.
• Train junior engineers and interns on best design practices.
• Review and oversee quality assurance processes.
• Compile reports on project metrics and propose improvements.
• Support preparation of proposals and bids for engineering projects.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermal Analysis

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Effective Communication

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
