Job Description

Looking for a skilled Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in a collaborative clinic environment. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and consulting pet owners about their pets’ care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat medical conditions in animals.
• Perform surgical procedures with proficiency.
• Work closely with a team of veterinary professionals.
• Assist in radiography and ultrasound diagnostics.
• Develop treatment plans tailored to individual animal needs.
• Provide emergency care and stabilization for critical cases.
• Engage in community outreach regarding animal health education.
• Guide and mentor veterinary students or interns as needed.
• Help improve clinic protocols and animal care practices.
• Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness of the work environment.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Further specialization in surgery is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years experience in clinical practice, particularly in surgery

• Membership of the South African Veterinary Association (SAVA)
