As a Veterinary Surgeon in Johannesburg, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a range of companion animals. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for animal welfare. Interacting with pet owners and educating them about their animals' health is a key part of this role. Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care for injured or sick animals.
• Prescribe medications and treatment plans tailored to each pet.
• Oversee the health conditions of all animals at the clinic.
• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
• Build trusting relationships with pet owners to ensure their comfort.
• Train and mentor junior veterinarians and student interns.
• Keep abreast of new veterinary practices and techniques.
• Engage in ethical decision-making and client communication.
• Collaborate with specialists when necessary for advanced care.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science from an accredited institution
• Additional certifications in specialist fields are a plus

Experience

• At least 5 years in veterinary practice with leadership experience preferred
