Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Tribal Council as a Member. As a council member, you will play a crucial role in representing the interests of our community, making informed decisions, and promoting the well-being of our tribe.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and actively participate in Tribal Council meetings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address community issues.
  • Foster relationships with external agencies to further tribal interests.
  • Engage in policy formulation and community empowerment initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of policies and programs.
  • Ensure that council decisions reflect the needs and desires of the community.
  • Facilitate community outreach to promote council initiatives.
  • Encourage active participation from tribal members in governance.
  • Identify resources necessary for program implementation and management.
  • Engage in conflict resolution concerning community issues.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or Social Science preferred
Experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of indigenous rights and issues is advantageous.
