Job Description

As a Non-Licensed Nuclear Equipment Operator (NLO), you will play a crucial role in assisting with the operation and maintenance of nuclear power plant equipment. Your responsibilities will involve ensuring safety protocols are followed diligently while maximizing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe operation of nuclear systems and equipment
• Conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Document operational data and assist in the preparation of reports
• Participate in corrective action processes when issues arise
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise plant operations
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and analysis of results
• Stay informed about changes in nuclear regulations and best practices
• Mentor junior staff in safety and operational procedures
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operational metrics
• Contribute to departmental initiatives for continuous improvement

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate
• Nuclear-specific training or equivalent experience preferred

Experience

• Experience working in a nuclear power plant environment is an advantage

Technical Skills

• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory standards
• Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
