Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer based in Cape Town to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs from initial concept through to production.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
• Review project designs for compliance with relevant standards.
• Perform calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Conduct material selection and testing.
• Participate in ongoing research to drive innovation.
• Monitor project schedules and deliverables.
• Mentor interns and co-op students in engineering practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in related engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Conflict resolution

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Lean Manufacturing certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
