Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of insurance policies and procedures. As an underwriter, you will assess risks and determine policy terms to minimize loss exposures for the company while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve policy renewals, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss underwriting policies and practices.
• Work closely with actuarial teams to ensure accurate pricing and risk evaluation.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for underwriting processes.
• Ensure adherence to company guidelines and best practices.
• Assist in the development of new insurance products based on market demand.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Advanced underwriting certifications are a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on underwriting
