Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Counsellor to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mental health and well-being, providing support and guidance to clients facing personal challenges. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic sessions to promote mental wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients to determine their mental health status and needs.
  • Craft and implement tailored therapeutic approaches.
  • Conduct supportive counselling sessions for individuals and groups.
  • Review client progress regularly and alter treatment plans as needed.
  • Address urgent mental health crises effectively.
  • Document all counselling sessions accurately in client files.
  • Interface with other professionals for multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Participate in community mental health initiatives and training.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work
  • Master's degree in Counseling or related field preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of mental health counselling experience
