Actuary

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Actuary to join our Durban team. The successful candidate will analyze data and assess risks to assist in designing and implementing insurance policies. This role requires analytical thinking and the ability to present complex information in a clear manner.

Responsibilities

• Implement and refine actuarial models for better client risk segmentation.
• Research industry trends and legislative changes that may impact insurance practices.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior actuarial staff.
• Continuously improve processes within the actuarial department.
• Advise on regulatory compliance related to actuarial matters.
• Actively participate in customer engagement initiatives to promote transparency in our processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
• Fellowship in the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in actuarial analysis or a related role

• Experience in actuarial consulting: Prior experience providing actuarial services to client organizations.
