Learning and Development Specialist

Job Description

Join our team as a Learning and Development Specialist, where you will play a key role in conducting needs assessments and delivering impactful training sessions. Your work will directly contribute to building a skilled and motivated team capable of meeting business objectives. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and a creative approach to learning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training needs assessments to develop tailored training programs.
• Develop comprehensive training materials and manuals.
• Maintain an up-to-date training calendar and ensure employee participation.
• Monitor training effectiveness through assessments and feedback.
• Foster a positive and engaging learning environment for all participants.
• Integrate e-learning technologies into training processes.
• Introduce best practices in adult education to drive engagement.
• Collaborate with external vendors for specialized training sessions.
• Provide ongoing support to learners to maximize retention.
• Maintain records of training and development activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology or related field
• Master's degree in Adult Education is a plus

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in training and development

Technical Skills

• Project Management
• Data Analysis tools (e.g. SPSS, Excel)

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Creativity

Certifications

• ATD Certificate in Training Delivery
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with blended learning strategies: Knowledge of combining in-person and digital training methods.
• Fluency in an additional language such as Afrikaans or Xhosa: Ability to design and facilitate training in multiple languages.
